Power Quality Seminar and National Energy Forum in Myanmar
September was an eventful month for the Mun Hean team in Myanmar. The power quality team conducted back-to-back seminars that were received with remarkable support and interest.
First, was the Power Quality Solution Seminar held at the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation headquarters. The seminar was opened by Managing Director of MH Power Myanmar, Mr. Yin Htwe Thet before handing over to PQ expert and speaker, Mr. Chee Khar Chit from Mun Hean Singapore. Mr. Chee presented to YESC engineers on contemporary solutions to PQ problems. The seminar covered topics of active harmonic filters, static var generator, dynamic voltage restorer, power quality and energy monitoring.
The following day, the Mun Hean team was speaking at the National Energy Forum on Efficiency and Conservation, organised by the Myanmar Engineering Council. The event was opened by Minister U Han Zaw, of the Ministry of Construction, and President of Myanmar Engineering Council, Dr. Charlie Than. Mr. Chee spoke about the detrimental effects of harmonics on energy efficiency. Amongst other topics, there was a particularly strong level of interest from the audience when Mr. Chee talked about the benefits of three phase balancing. The forum finished with a coverage of PQ solutions in Janitza Power Meters and DaxView Energy Management Solutions.
With an energetic turnout and a dynamic interaction between speaker and audience, both events were a resounding success. We would like to thank the Yangon Electricity Supply Corporation and the Myanmar Engineering Council for inviting us and the entire Mun Hean team for their efforts in putting the seminars together.
