Mun Hean Malaysia is pleased to announce the successful resolution of power quality issues at the Semanggar Water Treatment Plant in Kulai, Johor, Malaysia. Mun Hean Malaysia provided a total of 225A of Active Harmonic Filters (AHF) and a 300KVA Automatic Voltage Conditioner – Real-Time Strategy (AVC-RTS) across multiple locations within the plant.

The AVC-RTS, featuring the latest technology with ultra-capacitors and a power electronic inverter, ensures a 100% voltage sag ride-through for up to 3 seconds. This ultra-capacitor-based AVC-RTS offers several benefits, including reduced maintenance, a longer lifespan compared to traditional batteries, fast response times, and high efficiency.

The installation of the AHF has significantly reduced harmonic distortion in the water treatment plant, achieving a Total Harmonic Distortion of current (THDi) of less than 5% after activation. The end user and all stakeholders involved are highly satisfied with the outcome of this project.
