PQ Seminar at The Institution of Engineers, Singapore

PQ Seminar at The Institution of Engineers, Singapore

Date: 20 June 2017
Time: 6.15pm to 9.15pm
Venue: IES Auditorium,
70 Bukit Tinggi Road, Singapore 289758

Synopsis:
The increase usage of inverter drive, energy saving LED lights and computer system has
driven up harmonics and caused erratic power factor swing in our electric network. If
left unchecked, these pollution will affect the reliability of the supply network, shorten
working lifespan of electronics appliances and in critical situation, pull down UPS genset
switchover during blackout incident.

The advent of IGBT technology has brought about new solution to address these issues.
We will start the seminar with an overview on electrical pollution causes and how it affects the
network and appliances. Follow by the introduction on IGBT technology and how it is used to
provide the various compensation and removal of these pollutants.
