‘Smart Energy Management Systems: Realising New Standards for Energy Efficiency,‘ a technical seminar jointly organized by Mun Hean and Janitza of Germany on 23 February 2012 was a tremendous success. The seminar was a full-day event which was held in the main ballroom of The Saujana Hotel located at Subang, Malaysia.

The seminar was opened by Mun Hean Malaysia’s Managing Director, Mr Edmund Leong, followed by Mun Hean Group’s Executive Director, Dr Mok Wai Hoe, before the main speaker, Mr Rudolf Mueller captured the audience’s imagination with the possibilities of Smart Energy Management Systems and Power Quality Solutions. Mr Rudolf Mueller is the Sales and Marketing Director of Janitza electronics GmbH. He carries with him more than 20 years of experience in the field of energy distribution and is widely reputed as the leading expert in power quality sphere.

The seminar was attended by more than 90 participants consisting of electrical consultants, project owners, engineers, manufacturers, facility managers and energy managers. Mun Hean teams from Singapore, Myanmar and Vietnam offices were also present. During the seminar, “Smart Energy Management System” became the highlight of the day mainly due to the recent introduction of Malaysian Standards that require all the industrial owners that consume more than 3,000,000kwh within 6 months to hire a certified “Energy Manager” to monitor and audit their energy consumption.

In conjunction with Mr Mueller’s presentation on topics such as Smart Energy Management System & Power Quality Solutions, Mr. Muller has also taken the opportunity to share several case studies from Europe which triggered an active interaction from the floor during the Q&A session.

Apart from the seminar, we have incorporated a mini exhibition located within the ballroom showcasing: Local case studies on SEMS & PQMS together with some live demonstrations, Lightning Protection Solution, Power Factor Correction Solution, Switch Board Components and Other Industrial Products. The response from the participants was extremely overwhelming especially towards the local case studies on SEMS & PQMS.
